Legal Entity and Location:
The WIFAQ Organization for Peace and Human Rights is a non-governmental, non-profit, independent organization that deals with human rights issues in accordance with Article (60) of the Swiss Civil Code and the following articles of the law, in addition to the articles contained in this statute.
The WIFAQ Organization for Peace and Human Rights headquarters is located in Geneva, Switzerland, with the following address.
The work of the Organization is unlimited.
The objective of the establishment of the WIFAQ Organization for Peace and Human Rights
The objectives of the WIFAQ Organization for Peace and Human Rights are as follows:
- The WIFAQ Organization for Peace and Human Rights is dedicated to protecting and respecting human rights and dignity in accordance with existing international standards.
- Enhancing mutual awareness between the Arab region and the European Group.
- It seeks to consolidate commitment to the principles and rules of human rights, and uses the rules of international law, international humanitarian law and international human rights law as the basis for its work.
- It works to promote the right of peoples to self-determination, enjoy their full rights, and work in the interest of peace.
- The organization also prepares training courses in the field of human rights and international humanitarian law, and prepares working papers and studies on human rights situations.
- The organization participates in United Nations human rights meetings and coordinates its activities with a number of Arab and international organizations, where issues of human rights violations are presented in those meetings.
- The organization seeks to spread a culture of human rights, and awareness of rights and the mechanisms to protect them.
- It aims to enhance awareness of human rights through dialogue between cultures, religions and civilizations between the north and the south of the world.
- The organization encourages the exchange of knowledge and experiences and the promotion of respect for human rights in all circumstances and times, ensuring compliance with them and the application of rules and procedures aimed at curbing violations, combating impunity, promoting the principle of equality and non-discrimination on the basis of race, religion, color or intellectual beliefs, and encourages dialogue and solidarity between peoples and cultures.
- Working for the rule of law and strengthening the independence of the judiciary and lawyers in a way that contributes to ensuring fair and fair trials, and working to uncover and document human rights violations.
